Elzeline van Herk
Lawyer & Of Counsel
Elzeline van Herk is a partner at De Boorder Schoots and has been a lawyer since 1986.
She is regarded as one of the finest professionals within her discipline, with very wide-ranging experience in practice. From the outset of her career, her interest turned towards the more complex family law cases, in which she has specialised over the years. Her special area of interest is matrimonial property law, the settlement of marriage contracts (possibly including compensation provisions) and community of property. She also specialises in divorce and separation cases of an international nature. These are cases where the spouses reside abroad and/or are of different nationalities. Her client base includes a large number of entrepreneurs and independent professionals or their spouses. She recognises and understands their specific legal and/or financial problems on divorce or separation. High net worth individuals also beat a path to her door. She focuses on results, with a practical attitude. For some years, she lectured and compiled course material for both general professional and specialist legal training (vFAS). She has also frequently appeared as guest lecturer in the context of post-academic education (compulsory continuing education for lawyers) organised by external companies or organisations. She was at one point working with (the predecessors of) NautaDutilh and then set up a multidisciplinary law firm, with 10 other lawyers, in 1996. She remained a partner there until the end of 2005. From 1 January 2006, she joined as a partner in De Boorder Schoots – the first family law niche firm in the Netherlands. She speaks and writes fluent English, French and Spanish. Elzeline van Herk is a collaborative divorce lawyer and a member of the Dutch Association of Collaborative Professionals (VvCP – collaborative divorce).View LinkedIn Profile
